Dr Bjorn Buchner is a general practitioner with a special interest in aviation medicine. He practices as an aviation medical examiner (AME) in Pretoria, South Africa. He has been involved with aviation medicine since 2005. Not only does he take pride in looking after his pilots’ health and general well-being, he has had the privilege to share the flight deck with many of them, having also been an active airline pilot, on and off, since 2008.
Our practice administrator is Johann Cloete. He is the voice at the other side of the phone. Johann is able to assist with all your appointment needs.
Ane Montgomery has joined our practice as our full-time nurse. She will be putting you through the paces with some of the required tests.
For those wondering what has happened our beloved Tersia Nagel, she unfortunately passed away suddenly on 13 April 2024. Through the last decade, she demonstrated unwavering dedication to this practice. Many endearingly came to think of her as our ‘Mom of aviation medicine.’ She will be dearly missed.
